10/26/16 Recap

+$268.  Stressful day for me today.  Let stubbornness get me on NCR.  Nailed TWTR and fought AKAM for a win.

Overall today I do not feel my trading was the best.  I feel lucky to have finished the day with a small win.  Stubbornness… trying to force plays, got the best of me.  I have been frustrated with the lack of plays this month and let that frustration get the best of me today and took less then ideal setups.

To begin with my internet went down right at the opening bell and then my computer needed restarted.  I missed the first 15 minutes.  That started me on a foot of frustration.

NCR was my first play today and my stubborn play of the day.  After re-booting my computer I saw this stock running.  I jumped right in short without knowing anything about the situation…a no-no.  The good thing is that I took it off quickly for +$35.00 when it looked to be perking again.  It did run again and unfortunately I jumped right  back in short.  Sadly, I decided to fight the stock instead of taking it off as it kept holding and running further.  I fought it all the way to over a $2,300 loss where I finally said enough was enough.  I re-grouped and tackled it short again.  This time nailing it.  Unfortunately though, as is usually the case once a stock losses its bid and starts to drop, fills for shorts on the offer were a killer.  I just could not get the size I wanted to fill and I did not want to chase the bid to size in.  I got only about 1//2 the size I wanted but made back just about 1/2 my losses.  I should have never had this large of a loss in the first place. If nothing else I should have cut it at my max loss of $1000.

TWTR was a great play today.  I bought the dip in the AM and sold it right at the top for the afternoon.  I could see it loosing steam on the level II so that’s why I decided to sell.  Great play and great discipline.

AKAM I walked away with a win but it was a stressful and frustrating one.  It just never gave me the pulls I was hoping for and then it would climb incredibly well.  I would be up almost $800 then down almost $800… back and forth it went for hours.  I was looking for a pull to VWAP to exit, which would have been over a $2000 gain, but it never gave me that pull.  My overnight buying power was not sufficient for my size or I likely would have held it overnight.
