I am happy to report that my extended losing streak is officially over!
This month I had a win rate of 90%, with just one small red day. I was able to bring in $3,485 in after commission gains. Not bad for my reduced size and only 10 days where I actually placed a trade. You will see that I missed 6 of the 21 trading days this month due to work meetings–way too many meetings this month. There were 4 days where I did not place a trade simply due to not finding a setup I liked or hesitation on my part. My average green day was $390 and my one red day was $55.
I started to feel a shift in my trading this month. I was much more disciplined, my risk was more controlled, stops more defined, and I never once I got emotional in my trading. There was not a single trade where I risked my max trade “Oh-crap” stop loss number. My selectiveness this month did result in days where I didn’t take any trades, but that is ok. Overall, I feel much better about how I traded and not simply because I ended the month green.
I believe one of the best things I did this month was open up about my losing streak. The huge outpouring of support and encouragement I received was truly humbling. After opening up about my losses I felt a shift mentally that really helped me move past what was my worst losses of my career. It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders and I could finally move forward. I felt my confidence start to come back. But most importantly, I started to feel hope again in my dream. I am so grateful for all those that reached out to me. Thank you!
For next month I am going to keep my size small. My main focus will be continuing to grow my confidence. There were still too many occurrences this month were I hesitated and missed some great trades due to my lack of confidence. This hesitation is understandable given where I just came from, but I want to work on it. I will never completely eradicate all hesitation, but I still have a ways to go to get back to where I was pre-losing steak.
